#001 – I won the lottery? What would I do?

I remember using this as a topic of conversation with almost anyone I know.
It is also my dad’s favourite thought – my dad’s a dreamer – my mom, on the other hand, is practical.

Recently, I ranted about the electricity bill (well – who didn’t) and also – due to some problem with the lock I had to call a locksmith to break the door open and that also cost me a lot of money.
My dad who was about 130 miles away couldn’t stop calling me because he was worried. I also inherited this from my dad – so if you get multiple calls from me – just remember my dad gave it to me.

I was obviously in a bad mood – because it was about MONEY – so I tried avoiding his call coz I didn’t want to be annoyed with overly anxious dad.

About 8 miscalls later – I answered his call and spoke to him about everything that happened the kind of money, I had to take out for everything.

My dad was all calm by then and he simply went ‘If I took some numbers today, and If I win the lottery, I’ll give you some money’

And I laughed about it the whole night. As I type this out – I am still laughing.
So, yea – back to where we are supposed to be at.

What would I do if I won the lottery today? Let’s just say I won 1 Million Ringgit. FYI – this is not written according to my top priority/sequence.

Be Debt Free
I’d obviously opt to be debt-free first. Study loans, credit card bills. All of it sorted. Done.

Pizza Party
I love kids - they make me feel young over and over again. So, I’d like to have a pizza party in a nice cosy venue, with a projector on playing Disney movies with underprivileged kids. I would love to talk to them about my favourite Disney characters and give them a PIZZA MY HEART (#badumtss)

Get a nice Couch
I’d get a nice couch where I can just be lazy the entire day and also get a nice cover to protect it from Arlo, Master of the Couch.

Build a Greenhouse from scratch
I recently started getting a little crazy with plants. I never thought this day would come – but yea. It happened. I’d love to build a greenhouse from scratch - a place purely designed and assembled by yours truly to explore and experiment or even have a picnic.

Adopt a child.
I always wanted to be a mom. ALWAYS. Arlo made me realise further that I am capable of doing it. So, I would adopt a child. Even if I can’t have them to live with me (just yet) – I would love to contribute and nurture him/her with my time and capacity.

Travel.
I’d book about 10 trips to India (immediately) and also go for a EURO tour. I have not travelled that much – but in that very small experience I have – I realised how architecture has always excited me. I’d love to visit ancient temples, houses, cathedrals.. anything that has its own story.

I’ll not stop working
Nope. no plans to stop – not for now at least – especially after MCO. Nope.

A car.
Let’s face it – it is about time.

Shopping Spree
Obviously.

A LEICA M Monochrom (Typ 246)
If I am going to be travelling then I’ll definitely do it with this camera – I’d love to capture everything that intrigues me in black and white.

Refurbishing my home
I’d like like to give our house in Ipoh a makeover. I’ll start by getting the recycling guys to come over.

Road Trips
I’d plan road trips with my loved ones and Arlo. First around Malaysia, and then South-East Asia. But before everything else, I'll need to train Arlo.

Gifts
I’d buy some nice gifts for people close to my heart. not just for Christmas

Charity
I would initiate a movement that will involve people who share the same passion. I’d do one for mental health and another one for cancer patients. Besides funds – I’d love to include engagements – to spread kindness, love and support to those who are struggling.

Maybe ill start off with a free hug campaign..maybe

That’s all I have – for a 1 Million ringgit. Nothing that involves financial stability (if you noticed. My mom would not be alright with this idea) – but what I’d like to do if I win the lottery is to experience ‘FREEDOM’ and to live for the moment.

I don’t know how much time I have with everyone in this world – and if I did have a lot of time – then I have an entire lifetime to stabilise.

I’d like to make those around me happy and surprise myself a little!

Love,
Me
